Brunch, according to ‘Hunter’s Weekly’, 1895
According to an article in Hunter’s Weekly in 1895, brunch is “cheerful, sociable and inciting. It is talk-compelling. It puts you in a good temper, it makes you satisfied with yourself and your fellow beings, it sweeps away the worries and cobwebs of the week.”
Clearly more brunch is required, which in turns requires less breakfast, more getting up later, and more late nights with supper following dinner (a bagel with ham before bed, or a plate of cold meats and cornichon).
